Open Arms Trust has launched “The Open Arms Music Project,” an empowering initiative designed to support Namibian youth in the music industry. This project provides aspiring musicians and music industry professionals with essential resources, knowledge, networks, and tools to thrive in the dynamic music landscape.
The project boasts a lineup of experienced facilitators who bring their expertise and passion to empower the participants including comedian-filmmaker and creative entrepreneur Kgosi Makaza, co-founders of DONLU Llewelyn Adams and Blessed Simasiku and renowned music producer and NASCAM board member Elvo “Dr Mavovo” Diergaardt.
“The Open Arms Music Project” welcomes applications from aspiring musicians and music industry professionals based in the selected regions. Interested individuals can apply online through the project’s website by visiting openarmscommunity.org.na and accessing the application form under the “projects” tab. Upon selecting their respective town and completing the form, successful applicants will be notified in advance of their designated workshop.
This transformative initiative by Open Arms Trust aims to nurture talent, provide essential industry knowledge, and foster meaningful connections within Namibia’s vibrant music scene. “The Open Arms Music Project” serves as a platform for participants to enhance their skills, gain valuable insights, and forge lasting relationships in the music industry.
The workshops will cover various essential aspects of the music industry, including Artist Management, Media Training, Image & Branding, Online Music Distribution and Revenue Streams, Music Production, Financial Literacy, Monetizing Digital Content, Working with Record Labels, Intellectual Property and Royalties, Funding Opportunities, and more.
