Atushe on battling depression and new music

Once a formidable artist who won  awards and worked with many in the industry he seems to have fizzled out somewhere in the wilderness. The renowned Kizomba and afropop artist whom we last heard musically from in 2017 says he would have had it otherwise it had not been for life and its unpredictability. The Amor singer in an exclusive interview with unwrap.online opened up to battling depression as to one of the reasons he is quiet on his fans.

“I’m going through depression which I’m handling alone and I tend to spend most of my time alone or with my baby girl, she brightens my days, Ela e todo (she is everything)”, he said.

Atushe however made it known that he has been working on material as he has a collection of over 50 songs that just need to be released. In 2017 Atushe had made a switch in genres with his two afropop singles saying that he wanted to be more diverse instead of focusing on one genre, Kizomba. He confirmed with unwrap.online that he is working on releasing a 12 track album which will reveal just how broad he is creatively despite a few challenges.

“ I am looking forward to dropping my latest project but financial problems keep pushing me back,” he stated.

With the working environment having changed from when he was active to today, the Mama Africa song writer concluded by saying it is easier to work successfully and advises up and coming artists not to let fame get the best of them.

“Stay as far away as possible from alcohol, drugs and sex, no one will ever tell you this in the industry”, he said.
