Mark your calendars for Gospel Meets Jazz come December as Namibian and South African stars come together for a fun-filled day. Organised by VocalCast Productions, managed by Andre Bok, the ‘Gospel meets Jazz’ Summer Festival will take place at the WHS Sports field known as “Vegkop”.
The Gospel meets Jazz Summer Festival, set to be an annual event, was born out of a need to have more family centred events.
A collection of Namibian and South African artists is set to grace the stage. Billed to perform are Don Laka, Loyiso Bala, Ernie Smith, Jonathan Rubain and Don Vino from South Africa. Accompanying the international contingent will be a host of talented acts which include Juanita du Plessis, Suzy Eises, Clive & The Now Generation Band, Nam Gospel United and Fu-Jazz, amongst many more.
“The 10th of December is also “International Women’s Day” and ‘Human Rights Day’, which affords us the opportunity to celebrate these momentous and imperative occasions wholly, with clean ‘family-focused’ entertainment,” said the organisers.
“The idea to blend local with international is the perfect platform to create a collaborative space for seasoned artists to share their talents with Namibia,” Bok.
The event will also have various food and activity vendors with stalls set around the venue. Ticket prices are set as follows: VIP: N$1500 General Access: N$350 Children (5 – 16 years): N$50 Kids below 5: free tickets available at Webtickets.
A portion of the proceeds is to be donated towards the support of mental health awareness in Namibia. The intended beneficiaries will be announced after the event.
