Effy said this morning on his Facebook that “same sex marriage is wrong”.
Giving his five cents on the raging debate around gay marriages in the country, the gospel artist made it clear that in his view being gay or lesbian is wrong and while he “sympathise with your weakness or your misguided preference” he prays that people who identify as gay find peace.
“But your weakness cannot be the standard for right or wrong, or simple common sense were you cannot enter an exit. Black remains black regardless of how many biĺls and laws you pass to make it white,” said the Hallelujah singer.
He however added a disclaimer that “this is my Facebook wall – my opinion, you want me to tolerate your opinion but when I air mine you call it “hate speech”, so who’s really doing the hating here. Let’s agree to disagree stop bullying us into accepting this wickedness.”
