On the 7th of April 2024, Windhoek indulged in the decadent affair of The High Tea Experience at the Sweet Side of Thingz.
From 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, patrons were treated to a showcase of local flavors through a special seasonal tasting menu under the theme of African Autumn, accompanied by a selection of gourmet teas.Inspired by the lavish tea services depicted in popular TV shows such as Bridgerton and The Crown, the event brought the essence of high tea culture straight to Windhoek.
Attendees were immersed in a full tea service experience, featuring separate courses of savory and sweet items served on carefully curated vintage tea sets, complete with matching teapots and tea towers. Experienced hosts provided insight into the diverse tea flavors and shared proper tea etiquette with the guests.The ambiance of the event was enhanced by the comfortable and distinctive setting of the Sweet Side of Thingz, a local bakery nestled on Independence Avenue.
Patrons had the opportunity to explore the venue’s interior, adorned with exhibitions by StArt Art Gallery, showcasing the creative works of Namibian contemporary artists across various mediums.
