Theatre giant greets

David Ndjavera a pillar of Namibia’s close-knit theatre community had died this morning, barely days after his wife passed on.

This was confirmed by a family friend Adriano Visagie and actor himself who said “Uncle David was like a father to me.”

Namibia has been shaken with the news of the 52-year old thespian who was known for his roles in the Katutura movie, Hairabeb and the Taste of Rain.

He was the mastermind behind the Three Women and You production which tackled gender based violence as well as playing several stage characters such as Sangoma in Joos and ijambo and a starring role in the biopic of founding father Sam Nujoma, where others wavered.

Ndjavera also authored a number of scrips such as the Two man and baby published in 1989, the Evil that People do in 2000 and to Serve and destroy that was produced in 2001.
