Tim Ekandjo Joins Pan-African Creative Council to Help Shape Africa’s Global Story

Opportunity Africa, has launched a Creative Council aimed at changing how the world sees Africa.

The announcement was made in Addis Ababa on March 26, 2026. The initiative is aligned with Agenda 2063 of the African Union and focuses on building a stronger, more unified story about Africa.

According to a press release, the Creative Council brings together top leaders from communications, media, and marketing across the continent. The goal is to promote African stories, voices, and ideas, and to help shape a positive and accurate image of Africa globally.

Opportunity Africa says the platform will allow brands, institutions, and storytellers to work together and share a common vision. It aims to highlight Africa’s progress, creativity, and potential.The statement also notes that in today’s world, how a place is seen is just as important as facts. Because of this, Africa’s image is now considered a strategic issue, not just a soft one.

Speaking on the launch, Faith Adhiambo said the initiative will help Africa tell its own story better. She encouraged more partners to join the movement and support its goals.Moky Makura, from Africa No Filter, said it is important to see this level of collaboration across the continent. She added that the council will help build the kind of narrative Africa needs.

The council includes leaders from organizations such as TRACE, Brand South Africa, and Alpha Media Holdings. Namibia is also represented, with Tim Ekandjo from MTC Namibia joining the group. He said he is proud to be part of a movement that aims to tell Africa’s story in a better way.Opportunity Africa describes itself as a movement that wants to reframe Africa as a continent of opportunity, innovation, and creativity.

Through this new Creative Council, it hopes to build a stronger and more confident global image of Africa.
