Sound is a key element of storytelling and it takes more realistic and immersive sound to create a truly crafted piece of work.
However, sound mixing can be a challenging, open-ended art that requires an enormous amount of creativity. From the sound of footsteps creeping closer to doors opening, glass breaking, birds chirping and music playing all requires technical skills that will add depth to a film and immerse audiences into the onscreen world experience.
The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) in partnership with Dolby Institute is hosting a ‘Mix for creatives (Foley, FX and Music)’ webinar on Thursday, 14 May 2020. The webinar starts at 13:00 and will be hosted by Vikram Joglekar, a senior content manager at Dolby Labs and Quinton Schmidt, a senior manager operator partnership at Dolby Labs.
Whether you have been mixing in surround for a while or are just getting started, this session will help you identify creative rules to follow when mixing in surround, to engage the audience with the onscreen performance. Moreover, creatives will learn surround and immerse the audience into music, effects and ambience without masking dialogue tracks.
The ‘Mix for creatives webinar forms part of a series of Dolby Audio Webinars geared towards all content creators, mix engineers, video editors and system integrators. To watch the webinar live, registration can be done on the MultiChoice Talent Factory portal www.multichoicetalentfactory.com
