I’m not a homophobe- Top Cheri

Artist TopCheri has caught on heavy flak for her tweet calling on Namibians to discuss gay men that marries heterosexual women. In her tweet which she’s defending, Top Cheri said that men should free people’s daughters and stop hiding behind “wife and kids” which should be a topic for another day.

Up in arms, Namibian tweeps said that the award-winning journalist should be loud on this topic as her career blooms today because of gay people she had surrounded herself with and that her post is homophobic.

In an interview with unwrap.online, the Calling Heaven singer said that there is nothing homophobic about her statement.
“Lets help people find a way to happily live with themselves with who they really are. So nobody should talk for the straight girl because she’s straight and regarded not special?” said, Top Cheri.

Responding to aaccusations that her tweet was insensitive, Top Cheri stated that insensitive is one getting married to cover up their identity.

“Insensitive is getting married to someone just so you can cover up your identity. Insensitive is waiting for a women to turn 48 and giving her three children just for you to tell her that you want a divorce because you are ready to openly be with your boyfriend! What about her ! Nee ! Niks”

Here are some responses from tweeps.
