Salute! celebrates another international film festival despite a low turnout of local support.

Namibian movie director Phillipe Telavera took to social media to celebrate another international accolade of the film Salute! by giving a shoutout to those who believed in the project.

Salute! continues its world tour in 2020 as it has been selected to be part of the Five Continents International Film Festival, an online festival with monthly features.

The festival is an online monthly festival, with a live screening of the winning films of world cinematography, where feature films, short films, videoclips and webseries from all over the world come together to compete for the various prizes of the festival.

In addition, they obtain the greater satisfaction of a filmmaker that his work is seen by the public. Therefore, there is a prize that is granted by our subscribers, when viewing the film.
Taking to social media, Telavera shared the news with the caption that read:

In 2019, Salute! received no nominations or awards in the Namibia Theatre and Film Awards however the actor Adriano Visagie was nominated and won the best actor Southern Africa at the Sotigui D’Or in Burkina Faso.

The movie portrays actor Adriano Visagie as Carlito, a young Namibian man who is sentenced to five years imprisonment because of fraud. Nothing can prepare him for his new life in custody. Naïve, he gets lured in the group of the General (Monray Garoeb), a dangerous criminal who rules over his cell.
