Namibian producer Abraham Pieters keeps reaching height after height

Renowned TV producer AB Pieters on creating jobs for COTA students and his TV production.

Abraham Pieters, well-known as AB is no stranger to talent and hard work. The COTA graduate has been making headlines throughout the country and abroad, working along Power Houses like Bonang Matheba, Lady Gaga as well as on E! News is currently on the production of his TV magazine My story.

My Story well known as Afro Space is a TV Magazine that used to play on One Africa television. however, due to unfortunate circumstances, AB Pieters had to cancel the show during the filming of season two. My Story is a family show that is driven by conversations for everyone – young and old. AB Pieters is currently on the production of My Story says :

“BET is one of the potential networks that I see my show on,” he says.

According to AB Pieters, when coming up with a Magazine program or rather a show at large, one faces a lot of challenges.

“It’s extremely difficult being an independent producer, because not only am I the executive producer but also the face of the show, that’s why it’s called My story.

As the executive producer, he works in every single aspect of the production, from development to production and post as well as dealing with advertisers, and directly with the network.

The director further adds that he’s involved in every single creative decision and makes the final call. To put the cherry on the cake AB Pieters is the host of the show and once he steps into that zone, AB Pieters says
“I block out everything and go in with a clear mind”. Being an independent producer/ director is extremely challenging for AB Pieters in terms of finances, putting together a team but he thanks God that all came together with time.

Apart from his TV show, AB Pieters got a lot on his sleeves, he is currently working on three feature films in South Africa ,one Theatre Play in Namibia scheduled for October this year and lastly he’s plan is to hire at least 12 young vibrant media graduates from the College of the Arts who are struggling to secure a job.

AB Pieters also just finished filming with BBC Africa – focus on Africa about his philanthropic work in South Africa and Namibia


“I’m very passionate about service, doing something for the less fortunate and using my talent to make my community, country and hopefully the world suck less every day”.

The global Youth Speaker for mental illness has continously spoke at schools and universities about his depression and anxiety and how important it is to seek help.

“My goal has always been to change the perception of what is possible not only for me but for anyone”.
