The National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) is now offering grants to artists who were affected by COVID 19.
In a press statement, NTN said the grant will benefit freelance artists, activists, creative and cultural practitioners. The project aims to relieve COVID 19 inflicted financial strain on artists, creatives and cultural workers. All successful applicants will be granted N$ 1000 each as a form of financial relief and remuneration after realizing their proposed work.

Like the various industries and spaces in Namibia, participants in the creative industry and cultural sector have been left vulnerable with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Numerous projects have been called off, interrupted and postponed, affecting the livelihoods of artists, creative and cultural workers. The National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) hereby announces a financial relief and engagement project with the creative and cultural sector amid effects of the pandemic in Namibia. The project titled: IMPACT OF COVID-19 IN NAMIBIA: ARTISTIC RESPONSES AND CREATIVE INTERVENTIONS openly calls on freelance artists, activists, creative and cultural practitioners to propose works that are enlightening,therapeutic or innovative under the subject theme: Human Rights implications amid the effects of COVID-19 in Namibia. All successful applicants will be granted with N$ 1000 each as a form of financial relief and remuneration after realizing their proposed work.
