When she is not topping charts and dropping hit songs, Sally Boss Madam also dedicates her time to fighting social ills and uses her platform for the good of the nation. The musician shared that she did a song for the campaign against human trafficking in Namibia with the backing of the United Nations (UN).
“Take time to read about human trafficking in Namibia.Thank you to the UN for inviting me to do the awareness song for the campaign,” she said on Instagram.
According to the 2018 United States, State Department Trafficking in Persons Report, while Namibia has made efforts to put and end to human trafficking, the country does not do well convicting traffickers, recommending all identified victims for care and implementing formal procedures for victim identification and referral.
According to the report, 21 trafficking victims were identified during 2017 in Namibia. These victims included 11 men, one woman and nine girls.
Hopefully the campaign between the UN and Sally Boss Madam will bring awareness to human trafficking in Namibia.
